There is one prong set round modified brilliant cut natural blue sapphire, measuring 7.20 x 7.00 x 3.60mm, weighing approximately 1.49 carats, type II, medium dark saturation, very slightly violetish blue color, eye clean, with a good cut. There are 28 pave set Old European cut diamonds, measuring 3.00 - 1.70 x 1.46mm, weighing approximately 1.80 carats, a bright J/K color, with a lovely SI2 clarity, circa 1930's.
The mounting is tested 14K yellow & white gold, meaning it has 58.3% fineness of pure gold. Notice the white gold surrounding the diamonds, with yellow gold under the carriage of the ring, with beautiful decorative work under it. I have large hands and the ring completely fills up my finger from the knuckle to the bottom of my finger. The ring is bright finished, has a half round shank measuring 5.00mm at the split shoulder & tapers to 1.50mm in back. Very pretty! The ring measures 1 3/16ths of an inch from top to bottom, 9/16ths of an inch from east to west, and sits up 3/16ths of an inch. Ring size 6, the ring can be easily sized up or down by a good jeweler. The total piece weighs 6.43 grams.
