Love, love, love this darling piece of Victorian history with a lovely opal & diamond halo ring. Don't you wish we knew who received this beautiful ring in the 1880's or 1890's......from a sweetheart, from her parents, as an engagement ring? Someone has loved it across the centuries and now that someone can be you! Notice the lovely scalloped design of the gold setting, making a gorgeous floral design around the center stone......love it! And notice the twenty balls of gold between each diamond......such a lovely Victorian setting!
There is one oval cabochon cut created opal doublet measuring 7.58 x 5.44mm. Surrounding the center stone are ten single cut prong set diamonds measuring 1.70 mm, weighing approximately 20/100 of a carat. The diamonds have a lovely H-I-J color, with bright sparkling SI2 clarity, with a good cut. Notice the mill grained trim throughout.
The ring is set in a tested 14K yellow gold tapered shank with tiered scalloped crown, meaning it has 58.3% fineness of pure gold. The ring measures 9/16ths of an inch from top to bottom, 1/2 an inch from east to west, & sits up 3/8ths of an inch from the finger. Ring size 7 1/2, the ring can be easily sized up or down by a good jeweler. The total piece weighs 2.33 grams.
