What an amazing aquamarine & diamond ring this is! If you are a March baby, this ring would be the perfect 3.26 aquamarine birthstone. It would make the most wonderful engagement ring, and I'm selling so many colored stones to couples as engagement rings these days. The halo setting is so popular for engagement rings and the split band is so twenty-first century.....absolutely gorgeous!
There is one prong set oval modified brilliant cut natural aquamarine, measuring 11.05 x 8.55 x 6.05mm, weighing approximately 3.26 carats, raised 1/8th of an inch, in the center of the setting. The aquamarine is type I, medium light saturation, very slightly greenish blue, slightly grayish in color, eye clean, with a good cut. Surrounding the aquamarine are 9 prong set Old European cut diamonds, with 3 prong set transitional diamonds, in a halo setting, total weight of the diamonds being 1.56 carats. The diamonds are a lovely warm L, M, O, P in color, beautiful sparkling SI1-2 in clarity, with a good cut. Circa 1960's, the ring is set in 14K white gold, meaning it has 58.3% fineness of pure gold. Notice the split shoulders of the band with decorative gold work......very pretty!
The ring measures 11/16ths of an inch from top to bottom, 3/4 of an inch from east to west, & sits up 3/16ths of an inch from the finger. Ring size 8 1/4 of an inch, the ring can easily be sized up or down by a good jeweler. The total piece weighs 6.53 grams.
