What a lovely antique Edwardian double drop diamond necklace this, perfect for your wedding day if you are a bride, or perfect to wear each and every day, no matter what the occasion. When I spotted this amazing necklace at one of my favorite dealer's shop in London, I knew it was perfect for one of my Ruby Lane customers. Its delicate setting, the perfect size of he dangles make it one of a kind. Circa 1901-1910, the wonderful handmade 14K white and yellow gold setting is just exquisite. There are two bezel set transitional cut diamonds both with near colorless fabulous I-J color, exquisite VS1-VS2 clarity, with a good cut, weighing approximately .12 and .08 carats respectively which dangle down from a 1 1/8th inch drop and a 1 1/4 inch drop. There are three bezel set Old European cut diamonds, one in the center of the horizontal diamonds at the top of the drop, two more on either side of the center stone. There are also four prong set single cut diamonds set above the two larger diamonds in each drop. All seven diamonds have near colorless I-J color, bright sparkling exquisite VS1-VS2 clarity, with a good cut, weighing approximately 08/100 of a carat.
The necklace is set in a tested 14K white and yellow gold chain with a box clasp, meaning it has 58.3% fineness of pure gold and has lovely mill-grained trim. The necklace has a 16 inch chain. The diamond dangle drop measures 3/8ths of an inch from east to west. One dangle measures 1/18ths of an inch fro top to bottom, one measures 1 1/4 of an inch from top to bottom. The total piece weighs 4.25 grams.
