For sale is this 18th Century - French Mennecy - Porcelain Pot Pourri Jar - Marked D. V.
This antique, circa 1750's, pot is made of soft paste porcelain with exquisite detail of leaves and a rose on the top of the cap. The pot includes open work detail and measures 3 1/2 inches high x 2 1/4 inches wide.
The mark of D.V. is impressed and is the initials of Duc de Villeroy, patron of the Mennecy factory in France.
This piece is solid but does include some chips to the leaf designs. I have circled the nicks in some of the pictures and found the smaller ones by using a jeweler's loop. Overall this is a beautiful and very rare piece of French porcelain.
