Vintage pattern from the 1930s called "Glamis Thistle" demitasse cup and saucer produced in England by Royal Doulton. This pattern is now discontinued. It was produced between 1937-1961, featuring the thistle which was, (according to the writting on the back of saucer), found near Glamis Castle, Home of Queen Elizabeth and inspired by artist P Curnock, who has signed both pieces.
In shades of green, purple, yellow and blue on a cream background with gold and green banding, the set is in great condition with no cracks, chips or crazing. The saucer measures 4.5" in diameter, the cup is 2.25" tall with a 2.5" opening. Both pies are signed by the artist, marked on the bottom with the Royal Doulton mark and also state the number H.4601 with the date 1938. Lovely set for any collector! Thank you for looking!
