Frank Sinatra's trademark hat! These were called snap brim hats and the narrow brim could be worn up or down. Today's young, hip band members wear them up, but in the 50's - 60's the front of the brim was worn down. Stylish women also wear them! These are still being produced and worn today by both sexes.
The brim is 1 ½" wide at the front going to 1 ¾" at the back and the crown rises to 4" at the front and 3 ½" at rear. It is encircled by a 1 1/8" band of the same fabric as the hat but edged on both edges with a tiny band of leather.
The hat is a fine, olive green, fur felt velour. The wide, inside, leather band is stamped "Royal Stetson Playboy Made in Canada with a crest, all in gold. On the inside the hat is fully lined with cream satin and it is printed with "The Playboy II Stetson" on the reverse of the crown.
The only size label is the small gold and black one that says ¾. The inside circumference of the hat is 20 ½". This is a small hat.
