The Pilgrim's Progress is a Christian allegory published in 1678. It is one of the most significant works of religious English literature. Bunyan began his work while in the Bedfordshire county gaol for violations of the Conventicle Act, which prohibited the holding of religious services outside the established Church of England.
I don't need to tell you the story of this world famous work. It is known to "everyman."
This edition is wonderful. Nearly every page has detailed engravings following the story. Many, many are full page. Additionally, there are colored, full page chromolithographs which are still bright and fresh.
Condition: Good. Covers are worn, loose, but still intact. First few pages have some foxing, but later pages are still bright and unmarked. Page 128-129 has faint pencil marks in the lower margins (see photo). Please view all photos because they give an accurate description of the condition of this very collectible book.
