Louisa May Alcott is so well known in American literature that no information regarding her is necessary. The writer of Little Women, Little Men and Jo's Boys also wrote, in the mid-1860s, passionate, fiery novels and sensational stories under name A. M. Barnard.
Under the Lilacs was first published in 1878 under her own name and this book is more like the earlier works of Little Women and Little Men.
