Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a platinum fashion ring in a diamond shape c. 1915. The center of this piece is a 0.25 carat Old European cut diamond set in light filigree work. The bezel set stone is VS1 clarity, G-H color. The diamond has a bright sparkly look. To accent the center stone there are four 0.05 carat, prong set diamonds at the compass points. The shank is nicely detailed with punch piercing and millegrain work. The piece weighs 3.7 grams. It is a size 4-1/2, can be re-sized and is in excellent condition.

Millegraining is a tiny beaded detail around the edge on a piece of jewelry. Platinum produces the best surface for millegrain work. This lends sparkle to the diamonds without the brightness of a highly polished platinum surface taking away from the gemstones.

The platinum in this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The piece is marked "Platinum". The diamond sizes were calculated using a standard jeweler's caliper. The diamonds were tested using a standard jeweler's diamond tester. The diamonds were not removed from the piece to do physical testing or for weight.
