Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a Georgian 18kt. yellow gold ladies fashion ring circa 1830. The ring is navette shaped and features a topaz central stone. It is a golden yellow with brown undertones oval, foiled and closed back, bezel set 5mm X 7mm "imperial" topaz. The center stone is accented with rope wire twisting. On either side of the topaz are two 3.25mm natural, round, bezel set pearls. The decoration on the ring is delicate and hand made by a craftsman. The rope twisting is carried around the shank of the ring. The French hallmarks are visible on the back of the shank, which may indicate that the ring was made elsewhere, possibly Russia or Austria and assayed in France. The ring is 1" tall (north to south) X 1/2" wide (east to west). The ring is a size 5 to 5-1/4 and is in excellent condition for a 200 year old piece.

The gold content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The hallmark has been verified using Tardy's Poincon D'Or de Platine et de Palladium, 13th. Edition. The stone and pearls were measured using standard jeweler's calipers. The stone was tested using a standard jeweler's gemstone tester. The stones were not removed from the ring to verify size or weight.
