Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a vintage 18kt. white gold ring in a princess style mounting circa 1950. This ring features a natural, prong set, oval ruby of approximately 0.50 carats. The color is a bright, vivid reddish pink with red undertones. It is well saturated and evenly colored. The central ruby is accented by 14 round, prong set diamonds of 0.015 points each, with a total weight of 0.21 carats (prox). The stones are SI2, H color. This is a wonderful piece which can be used as an engagement ring or fashion ring. There is an unidentified maker's mark. The ring is a 7-1/2, can be easily resized and is in excellent condition.

The gold content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The ruby and diamonds were measured for size using a standard jeweler's caliper. The ruby was tested using a gemstone tester and appropriate filters. The diamonds were tested using a standard jeweler's diamond tester. The diamonds have not been exactly graded since the stones were not removed from the piece. Exact carat weight can not be determined since the stones are mounted. It is assumed the ruby has had heat treatment since this a usual process for rubies and sapphires.
