Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a Retro Modern, also called Mid-Century Modern ring made of 10kt. yellow gold, circa 1950. This hand wrought piece is a unique modernist design featuring two extended grooved "leaves" holding a round, faceted deep purple with blue fire, amethyst stone. The amethyst is 12.75 mm round X 13.0 mm deep. It weighs 11.7 carats (prox). The stone is head in place by grooves in the mounting. The ring weighs 5.65 grams. It is a size 6-3/4 and can be resized.
