Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a 14kt. white gold ladies vintage Boucle style fashion ring circa 1955. The bow shaped ring is set with a round, prong set, cornflower blue natural sapphire that is 6mm round or 1.00 carat. The sapphire is bright, sparkly, evenly colored and well saturated. This stone is the color typical for Montana sapphires. To add sparkle and complete the look, there are 32 round, single cut diamonds with a total weight of 1.00 carat (prox) surrounding the sapphire. The diamonds are pave set and are VS2 in clarity, G-H in color. The ring is a size 7 to 7-1/4, can be resized and is in excellent condition. The ring weighs 5.3 grams.

The gold content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The piece is marked "14Kt." + "W". The sapphire and diamond sizes were calculated using a standard jeweler's caliper. The diamonds were tested using a standard jeweler's diamond tester. The sapphire was tested using a standard jeweler's stone tester. The stones were not removed from the piece to do physical testing or for weight.

Montana sapphires are sometimes not heat treated, but they can be heat treated without added flux or color which is an acceptable and common practice. For more information see Gemological Institute of America specifics for Montana sapphires.
