Beautiful Belle Epoque Sapphire Ring c. 1900

Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a hand cut platinum ring in a stunning mounting, circa 1900. The centerpiece has a deep blue, bezel set, oval, cabochon cut, natural sapphire. The stone is high domed and an elongated oval. It is velvety blue and highly saturated in color. The center sapphire is about 3.30 carats total weight. The sides of the ring are accented with filigree and covered in diamonds. The 22 old European and single cut diamonds have a total carat weight of 0.80 carats. As added accent there are 0.50 carats of French cut, dark blue sapphires. The platinum mounting was made specifically to fit the center stone. It is hand pierced and a exceptional piece of antique craftsmanship. The size is (East to West) 18.9 mm or 3/4". There is millegrain for a total of 1-1/2" and engraving for 2" total. The North South dimension is 13.1 mm or 1/2"+. This ring is a size 7 and weighs 5.0 grams.

The sapphires were tested using a standard jeweler's gemstone tester. The diamonds were tested using a standard jeweler's diamond tester. The stones were not removed from the piece to determine exact carat weight or measured for size.
