Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a 14kt. yellow gold Art Nouveau medallion pendant c. 1890. This central feature is a charming lady reminiscent of the Gibson girls of the 1890's in a cameo style. The medallion is encircled with linked bars tied together by rings. This pendant is 1-1/2" wide X 1-1/4" tall (maximum dimensions). The piece is 1-1/2" long from the drop. It weighs 2.4 grams.
The Gibson Girl was the epitome of the feminine ideal of physical attractiveness. She was created by the artist Charles Dana Gibson during the 1890-1910 period. She represented the "fragile lady" and the "voluptuous woman.
The gold content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. There are dings to the reverse as shown in the pictures.
