Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a sterling silver flapper drop style necklace c. 1920. The center piece is a beautiful antique hand carved and pierced Chinese moss-in-snow nephrite Jade plaque topped by a filigree cap. The pendant is 2-1/4" long X 1-1/16" wide (maximum dimensions). The center plaque is topped by a clear flattened crystal with a 9mm. mottled medium green nephrite jade ball topped by a second crystal bead and then attached to a simple paper clip style chain. There an additional 6 jadeite beads and 12 flattened crystal beads, a total of 7 balls and 14 crystals. The jade is opaque and there are some imperfections in the cut of one of the beads. The chain is 27" long and has a spring ring closure. There are no hallmarks.

The silver content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The filigree cap on the jadeite plaque is probably silver plated.
