Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering an 18kt. yellow gold Art Nouveau filigree style, articulated necklace c. 1900. The gold is rich and bloomed. The necklace is suitable for dressy or casual attire. The piece features seven shield or bell shaped plaques. The width of the plaques taper from the largest center plaque of 12.1mm to side plaques of 10.5mm with the four outside plaques 9.5mm each. The shield shapes have a flat, engraved, tri-lobed leaf topped by a serrated swirl in the middle of each. There are three balls spaced evenly across the top of each shield. The chain features oval sections each having an "S" shaped serrated center. All oval sections have attached oval shaped rings completing the chain which is 16" long with a spring ring closure. There are unidentified markings on the ring closure. The piece weighs 11.3 grams.
