Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a special Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti ("Victoria") from Taxco c. 1950 sterling silver parure set. The four pieces include a necklace, bracelet and earrings in the "Angels" pattern from the Golden period of Taxco jewelry. The design features a pierced oval with oxidation or blackening on the floor of the ovals which gives the piece a very dimensional look. The piercing has the look of an angel in flight.
+The necklace has 14 oval plaques separated by two round balls. Each section is 1" wide X 5/8". The necklace is 16" long. It has a box clasp. The necklace weighs 69.8 grams. The reverse is marked "Victoria" + "Sterling" + "Taxco" + "Mexico" + "53" + the older Eagle mark "12".
+The bracelet has 8 oval plaques separated by two round balls. Each section is 1" wide X 5/8". The bracelet is 8" long. It has a box clasp and a safety chain. The bracelet weighs 44.5 grams.The reverse is marked "Victoria" + "Sterling" + "Taxco" + "Mexico" + "53" + the older Eagle mark "12".
+The earrings have a single oval plaques accented by one round ball. Each earring is 1" wide X 5/8". The fixture is a screw back. The earrings weigh 8.8 grams.One of the earrings is marked "Victoria" + "Sterling" + "Mexico" + the older Eagle mark "12". The second is marked "53" + "Sterling".

Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti (1910-1999) opened her first shop, Plateria Victoria SA, in Taxco, Mexico in 1940. She was a talented designer and maker of jewelry. Victoria's pieces used designs that include all forms of the natural world, including flowers, animals, fish and pre-Columbian art. She is also well known for her unique, modern looks. She was supported during her early years by WIlliam Spratling and Margot de Taxco. She and her family opened a second shop in the 1950's. These pieces wee trademarked "Cony". Her family continues to work in the Taxco jewelry business.

The silver content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The silver is marked "Sterling".
