Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering an original vintage pair of sterling silver earrings by Margot de Taxco (Margot vanVoorhies Carr) in her design style 5285 and called the "Deco Pre-Columbian" pattern. These earrings feature an early Aztec theme which the artist continued throughout her work which included "Greek key" style loops and applied balls. The earrings are 15/16" wide X 5/8" high. They are screw backs. The maker's mark are on the reverse. One earring is marked "Made in Mexico" + "Sterling" and the other marked "Margot de Taxco" + "5210" + the Eagle bell 16 mark. The total weight of both pieces is 8.7 grams.
The silver content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The silver is marked "Sterling".
