Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a "900" coin silver ladies fashion ring c. 1900. This ring was made in Europe, probably Germany. It features a central oval cameo of an Georgian lady made from cornelian shell with the lady in white relief. The cameo is surrounded by 32-0.01 carat round, rose cut marcasites. The frame around the cameo and marcasite is scalloped for detail. The central plaque of the ring is 1" (north to south dimension) X 3/4" (east to west dimension) (Maximum dimensions). The ring is a size 6-3/4 and weighs 6.1 grams.
Coin Silver has a fineness of 900. It is 90% silver and 10% alloy. The silver content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The silver is marked "900" on the outside of the ring, a typical mark for German manufacture.
