Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a 9kt. yellow gold hard bangle style bracelet in a gorgeous Victorian style, circa 1880. This piece center stone is a bright, light green, eye clean peridot. The crown or claw set peridot is round, faceted and 7.35mm in size. There are 2 crown or claw set paste side stone with the look of diamonds. The closure is a bayonet style which closes securely. There is a 2-1/2" safety chain. The bracelet can accommodate a 7" wrist. The bangle comes in its original box.

Peridot is the gem stone in the mineral family olivine. Many olivine stones are ancient and were around from the birth of the solar system. Peridot was found in comet dust brought back from the Stardust robotic space probe. Egyptians called peridot the “gem of the sun.” It is a stone still prized for its yellowish green hues, and long world history. It is the birthstone of August.

The gold content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The peridot size was calculated using a standard jeweler's caliper. The peridot was tested using a jeweler's stone tester. The stones were not removed from the piece to do physical testing or for weight.
