Caroline's Jewelry with a Past is offering a 15kt. yellow gold bar brooch with a Georgian era centerpiece circa 1820. This wonderful Georgian piece has a round, faceted and foiled pink imperial topaz as the highlight. It is calculated to weigh 1.37 carats and is 8.3 mm round and prong set. The head is 5/8" across. There are 11 natural pearls surrounding the topaz and they are bead set in secure mountings. The back is closed in and was originally a button or ring (as a lot of surviving Georgian pieces are). The mounting was done in the Victorian period. The length is 2-1/4" overall. The piece has a safety closure. There is one prong missing holding the pink topaz.

The gold content of this piece has been tested using standard accepted testing methods, such as acid testing. The topaz was tested using a jeweler's stone tester and measured for size using a standard jeweler's caliper. The size was calculated using stone dimension geometry.
