This antique majolica teapot is a Victorian japonesque piece with yellow lotus flowers and leaves on each side. The pond lilies appear atop a creamy textured background. A flower topped blue lid sits atop the pot. The Japanese influence can be seen in the blue fluting.
Measurements: approx 8-3/4” across the spout and handle, 5” tall with the lid in place.
Display only condition - staining around the spout end, the handle has a crack at the finial that runs all the way around (I do not see another crack in the handle, so I assume it has not been broken and re-glued), hair line crack that runs from under the spout down to near the base, a bit of discoloration on the outside of the pot but no staining inside, skip in the glaze on one of the lotus petals.
