This is a lovely antique 19th century Victorian lady's sash or belt buckle. Crafted of gold plated sterling silver, the buckle has an ornate raised design with milky white enamel in the recesses along with jeweled rosettes of small turquoise glass gems.
The center is engraved with a monogram that appears to be CGB.
This would be stunning made into a brooch!
Measurements: 3-1/2” across the widest points
Weight: 42.1 grams
The buckle is unmarked but it has been tested for purity and it is sterling silver.
Condition: some fading to the gold plate, some scratching to the center monogrammed section, some dark tarnish on the reverse (this has not been polished for fear further wear to the gold finish), tiny tiny chip to one glass piece.
