Circa 1944, this sensational vintage brooch features a wood anchor topped with a carved butterscotch bakelite globe. Red, white, and blue painted details accent the pin while a matching double cord and tassel complete the design.
The original pin back with roll-over clasp is in place on the back.
Measurements: the anchor alone measures 2-5/8" x 1-7/8", anchor plus tassel is approx 3-3/4" long
Very good to near excellent condition with the merest hint of rubbing to the paint on the anchor. The thread may be a bit faded. Appears to be some minor soiling down in the carved recesses of the globe – but I have not cleaned the bakelite for fear of damaging the paint. The pin mechanism is the only notably aged part of the pin.
