This 19th century French bronze dore jewel casket with 4 ball feet sits atop a marble base. The body of the box features allover champlevé enamel in classic colors of rich turquoise blue, deep wine red, cream, dark and mid-tone blue. Hints of pink enamel peek out here and there.
Inside the bottom of the box is lined with tufted red silk.
Measurements: 2-3/4" high x almost 3-3/4" wide x 3" deep
Condition: the bronze has not been polished and shows typical minor tarnish, I suspect that the gold plating has rubbed away, some typical pits in the enamel caused by inclusions during the kiln firing process, chips in the marble base most notably on the corners, the silk lining has dust in the recesses but is so delicate I am not willing to risk damaging it by cleaning, the silk along the edges has worn and there are some holes.
