An exceptional fraternal pin, this little 1918 sorority pin carries the Greek letters Phi Sigma Nu (perhaps Sigma Nu Phi). The back letters are 14k gold and feature hand engraved details. These letters are topped with the raised letter N which is encrusted with 10 mine cut diamonds and 3 green stones that I suspect are emeralds.
The pin is engraved on the back with the name Floy Emogene Lyon leading me to believe that the pin is from a sorority and not a fraternity. It also has the chapter affiliation of Epsilon. The initials of CCM&S also appear as well as the date of 1918.
It measures approx 11/16" x 5/8". The pin does not carry a hallmark for the metal content but it has been tested and it is 14k. The diamonds have also been tested. I can't test the N for fear of scratching the gold letters but I suspect that it is sterling.
