19th Century Two Medallions Micro Mosaic Brooch Rome Views
Victorian era micro mosaic brooch depicting historical buildings of Rome:
1) The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter, officially known in Italian as the Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano and commonly known as St. Peter's Basilica located within the Vatican City. The Basilica is detailed depicted with its column and fountains. 2) The Forum Romanum located between the Palatine Hill and the Capitoline Hill of the city of Rome.
The two medallions are surrounded by fine twisted mounts and jointed by a small baguette with the inscription Rome. Mounts and baguette are made of solid silver (950 French Hallmark) and golden plated.
The tiny glass tesserae have wonderful, luscious colors.
The condition is very good, 2-3 tiny glass tiles are missing (St. Peters’). The fixing needle is bent, security not affected.
Large size: length: 2 inches, width: 0.6 inches. The medallions have a diameter of 0.6 inches.
