Home Altar with Painted Porcelain Plaque Virgin Mary and Infant Jesus

This beautiful home or table altar with brass frame is dated to the second half of the 19th Century.

Inside an unusual large porcelain plaque depicting the Virgin with Baby Jesus. It depicts the “Madonna of the chair” (Madonna della Segiolla or Madonna della Sedia), a very good transfer print of the famous painting of Raphael Sanzio der Urbino. The Original is housed in the Palazzo Pitti collection in Florence.

Very good condition of the retable and the porcelain plaque. Brightly colors. The cross seems to be re-fixed (as a little bit awry). Easel back present, well working. The brass frame is not cleaned and shows a beautiful age patina.

Measurements: 6.4 x 3.2 inches, the unusual large plaque measures 3.2 x 2 inches.
