Victorian Era Treen Jewelry Box Superb Marquetry ca. 1850
This is a very special jewelry box. It has a drawer and a show area on the top of the drawer. Delightful for preparing the jewelry pieces lady will wear today! The lid shows a wonderful wooden marquetry, the inserts are delightful painted. The veneer is made of fruit tree, I am not 100% sure, but I think it is birch.
Drawer and show area are lined with burgundy felt, the lid is lined with beautiful Italian silk paper. This is a newer work.
The box is made around 1850. The condition is very good, some small imperfects of the veneer, see please the pictures. No key.
Measurements: 7.4 x 5.6 inches, 3.6 inches in height.
