Here for your consideration is this beautiful Press ‘n Glow light-up Christmas tree brooch designed and made by Hattie Carnegie in 1964. This lovely pin depicts a golden Christmas tree with alternating rows of blue red and green sparkly rhinestones. The tree is made of gold plated base metal with a clear white rhinestone star on the top. The base was made to hold a battery that was designed to be pressed to light up a light inside to shine through the rhinestones. Unfortunately, these lights rarely light up and this pin is not an exception to the norm it does not light anymore. The brooch has slight plating wear on its edge consistent with its storage age and use, overall good condition. It is marked on the reverse within the classic oval cartouche "Hattie Carnegie" and LIC. PAT. NO. 3119564, it has a locking "C" clasp that functions well.
