Here for your consideration is this collectible brooch depicting a cute Bull Dog from the brooch set entitled "Mr. and Mrs. Dog." The patient for these dogs is dated 1942 by designer Adolf Katz for the Coro Company. The brooch is made of enamel-painted gold-plated base metal. This Bulldog brooch is hallmarked Coro on the reverse close to the proper working clasp. Mr. Dog has a light blue enamel-painted top hat and matching bowtie. The condition of this old dog is very nice with very slight wear to the enamel consistent with its age, storage, and use as you can see by the pictures. The dog is in nice size measuring approximately 2 inches by 1 ¼ inch. Mr. and Mrs. Dog was featured on page 124 of Brunialti's book American Costume Jewelry Art & Industry, 1935-1950.
