Here presented for your consideration is this wonderful embossed painted German die cut depicting a beautiful winter scene of a snow covered church with steeple. A bright red bird sits perched on a sprig of holly at the bottom corner. The base of the die cut bears the greeting, "A MERRY CHRISTMAS," in golden letters. Colored in muted, vintage colors, the piece is decorated with sparkling mica snow. It is a nice size and measures approximately 9-1/2 inches tall and 6-1/2 inches wide. Heavily embossed and decorated, the piece is in excellent condition with no bends, creases, or tears. The back of the piece is ink-stamped, "FOREIGN." "Holiday Die Cuts were manufactured in Germany beginning before World War II into the early 1950's. Some exported to the U.S., once trade resumed between the countries. Businesses would give their clients or special customers' pieces like this during the Holiday season. German Die Cuts are known for their rich colors and mica and glitter trimming.
