Here for your consideration is this advertising collectible for Kellogg’s cereal a one cup measuring cup. The Kellogg’s Company began giving promotional premiums with their products in 1906 to help promote the sale of their products. In the 1930’s a premium they began giving away was a glass one-cup measuring cup to promote their new cereal product “All Bran.” These cups came with the cereal and were made of either pink or green Depression glass. The cup has three pouring spouts for easy handling, the cup has measuring marks embossed on the side of the cup in increments of quarter cups on one side and one third cup measurements on the other totaling a full cup. This particular cup is made of pink Depression glass and it measures approximately 3 ¼ inches in height and 3 inches in diameter. If you look into the bottom of the measuring cup on the base it reads the embossed/raised advertising icon for Kellogg’s in script. The cup is in very nice condition with slight wear to be expected with normal wear and use over the years consistent with its age and storage as you can view in the pictures. This old cup could use a warm bath with soapy water to bring out its best, I would not use a dishwasher machine. Here is your opportunity to own this authentic piece of yesteryear history. It would make a charming addition to your collection.
