Rare and lovely sterling marcasite ring is in very good vintage condition. Early 1900’s and marked Sterling, made in the U.S.A inside the band. There is also a symbol that is hard to make out but I do see a arrow and what looks like a possible u shape which leads me to believe this is made by the designer Uncas. The oval shaped Onyx does have some small chips on the borders but they are difficult to film and it is otherwise in mint shape. Features a well done Victorian design base with original sparkling marcasite's.The onyx stone is riveted in the back. The center symbols are sterling enameled and though tiny all the symbols have very good detail and original color. Has a half moon with stars in it, a tiny dove and three interlocking circles.
The symbols are for DAUGHTERS OF REBEKAH (Rebecca) a female auxiliary to the ODD FELLOWS.
Ring size 5 1/2. ring is 3/4th by just over 5/8th” L and W. The band tapers down to a thin under 1/8th”W.
"U" with inward facing arrows on either side of the U. This is the original mark of the Uncas Mfg. Co. This mark was used from 1918 to 1988. The Uncas Mfg. Co. was founded in Rhode Island in 1911.
