Fantastic early 1900’s Brooch features a heavenly depiction of the goddess Aphrodite holding hands in unity with the winged cherub Eros. Done in Incolay raised work with iridescent butterfly wing background and covered with a slight domed glass casing that has intricate scroll work at each side. It is bevel set. The oval shaped base in a silver metal also has nice detail work with etched borders. No marking found on the metal. Has a c clasp secure close. The pin has a very slight bend from former use but does meet the c clasp correctly. There is a tiny circle hole punched out on the back and it is also has two prongs keeping it held securely. A slight dent to the left where the clasp end on the back is soldered. It is in over all very good condition and very well made. It is also very beautiful in person.
