Beautiful Asian man figural Peking glass Brooch - image 1 of 6

This beautiful and well crafted brooch is in excellent condition. Lovely low raised and etch work detail on the robe of this wise Asian man.The Peking glass used for his face and center of his body has great rich color. It has a secure rolling c clasp pin closure. Gold tone metal. There is no metal wear.
Measures 1 7/8’L and just under 1’W.

Unsigned, however this is a well known pin attributed to Hattie Carnegie. Her work is frequently unsigned, and she produced quite a bit of jewelry with an Asian theme.

Hattie Carnegie 1919 - 1970s- Hattie Carnegie was another fashion designer that made their way in the costume jewelry business. Born in Vienna in 1886, she came to the United States with her parents when she was a child. In 1918 she opened her fashion house in New York City. It was called Hattie Carnegie, Inc. Like Schiaparelli, Chanel and others she began to market jewelry she thought would look good with the outfits she designed. Her costume jewelry was a favorite amongst the actresses and socialites of the day. It was sold in some of the department stores. Carnegie jewelry was/is expensive and very well made.
