This Vintage E. Ingraham 8-Column Black Mantel Clock is a typical American black mantel clock made by E. Ingraham Clock Co, around 1911. The case is wood with faux marble columns. The spring powered 8-day brass movement has a half-deadbeat escapement with hour strike on a coiled gong and the half-hour strike on a passing bell. This is a count wheel movement. The escape wheel and verge are on the front of the movement necessitating removal of the face to make beat adjustments, which is typical Ingraham style. The case and finish appear to be untouched original just oiled to remove dust. The movement has been air bushed and is in good condition. It gongs (sounds great) and dings and both winding stems work I finally got it on a level surface and it ran for 7 hours keeping good time. Comes with the original back (not shown in photo). All parts look in great condition but it might need a tune up by a clock repairman. It measures 15 ¼” x 12 ½” x 6 ¼”.
