Vintage Auguste Rodin French sculpture “The Thinker” Brutalist solid hammered bronze bookends. These vintage solid cast bronze bookends feature two different views of this famous pose which Rodin captured originally in 1880 and was cast by Fonderie Rudier in 1904. Rodin originally conceived the idea to place as an element to the “Gates of Hell”, seated on the tympanum. The Thinker was originally entitled The Poet. The vintage bronze bookends are in good condition with no chips, holes or cracks and measure 5 ½” high, 4 ½” wide and 1 ¾” deep.
