Vintage Singing Nun story book record album and art folio.The singing nun was better known as Jeanne-Paule Marie Deckers 1933-1985. She was a Belgian singer-songwriter who for seven years was a member of the Dominican Order in Belgium. She acquired world fame when in 1963 her recording of the Belgian French song “Dominique” topped U.S. music billboard charts. Later in 1966 a movie was released with a weekly serial television program to follow that featured Debbie Reynolds and Ricardo Montalban. This vintage and unique jacketed record album features a monaural recording of songs with a total of twelve (12) songs recorded, six (6) per side. Accompanied with the jacketed record is a written and illustrated storybook as well as a portfolio of watercolor sketches of convent life. The music and words to the songs are credited to Soeur Sourire. The illustrations in the story to F. Strobel and the storyline to K. Stanton. The watercolor folio is from Fichermont. The illustrated storybook is in excellent condition with no missing pages, no torn pages and no stains. The watercolor folio is in excellent condition with no creases, holes, tears or discoloration. The 12” lp album recorded by Phillips is in excellent playing condition with the original protective paper sleeve. The watercolor sketches measure 9” x 9”.
