Vintage Black Americana novelty bisque coin bank with a nodding head. The artisan was Kenmar and was produced in Japan beginning in 1940 and with production ending in 1955. The bisque “nodder” is painted in a flat black paint with hand-painted colorful accents for the lips, eyes and eyebrows. The condition of the vintage novelty “nodding” bank is good, with only some minor paint loss and it appears that the fruit may have been reattached post production. The bank includes the original rubber stopper located on the base of the coin bank and the original Japan paper label on the backside. The bank measures 6 ½” high.
