This Vintage 1966 Dallas Cowboys Player Autographed National Football League Wilson Football is signed by 36 of the 43 team members of the 1966 Cowboys. The football is the official National Football League football of the era. The 1966 season was the 7th season for the Cowboy football team that started in 1960. It was their first winning season posting a 10-3-1 record and their first Eastern Conference title. They hosted the NFL Championship at the Cotton Bowl, but lost to the defending champions Green Bay Packers, who wen on to win the first Super Bowl two weeks later. This was also the season that the Cowboys adopted the tradition of hosting Thanksgiving games. It is widely rumored that as a condition of playing on a day different than Sunday, which was uncommon at the time and high attendance was not a certainty, that the team would be guaranteed the opportunity to continue to host the Thanksgiving Day game. Other milestones for this season were the merger with Lamar Hunt's AFL under the same NFL banner and saw Tex Schramm elevated to the position of Vice-President and General Manager of the Cowboys by owner Clint Murchison. It is a rare chance to own a piece of history. Signatures are in Ball Point Pen. Has the signatures of the following players:
J S Smith
