This Victorian wax seal has all the elements of style, including a seal that hasn't been engraved, which is pretty unusual, and it's from about 1880 or so. This stylized piece from the past would compliment a desk beautifully, and would also make a superb gift for a writer. It has a sterling mark on the front, is in excellent condition, with a bit of wear from age and use, and measures about 4.25 inches long.
This special piece has been part of our personal 125-piece antique writing instrument and desk accessory collection that appeared at the Smithsonian's Cooper Hewitt Museum of Design's Reading and Writing Exhibit in 1980 in New York City. It is now time to share all of these valuable and memorable pieces with antique lovers all over the world. There are many more, so please enjoy! There is a link to an article about the exhibit, so if you Google the New York Times Reading and Writing exhibit 1980, it should take you there
