This unique Victorian brass brooch pin from about 1875 has small light amethyst and peridot stones on each side of the pin and brass beading around its oval frame. They were fashionable during that period and were known as sash buckle pins. The fabulous center disc has a picture of an armored soldier's head with the word "Mispah" written above it. The Victorian meaning of Mizpah is "I Will Watch Over Thee" and was shown on some of the more popular jewelry and other collectibles of that era. This piece is a perfect example of that and is in very good antique condition with a bit of normal wear from age and use. The back has a 'C' closure, typical of that era, and measures about 3.0 inches long x 2.0 inches high.
