This beautiful hand-painted porcelain brooch from about 1880, is a one-of-a-kind piece and has been signed by the artist, V. Flemming. Its all-over gold leaf paint, with striking black checks and dots is a stand out, and the colorful magenta peony in the center with the artist's signature just below, makes this piece such a treasure. It's a fabulous brooch to wear on all your jackets. It was a fashion trend back in those days for young girls to paint their own jewelry and this piece is just one of our collection. It measures 2.0 inches long x 1.75 inches wide and is in great antique condition with a bit of normal wear from age and use. The back has a bar pin glued on, which was typical of some jewelry of that period.
Don't forget, naturally eco-friendly and green, antiques and vintage are the ultimate in helping the environment.
