Amateur painted tab handled and paneled bowl on a blank from Japan. Quite well done with each panel having an art deco inspired cherry and leaf decoration on a cobalt ground. The rim, foot and edges of each panel are covered in a rich gold band. Bowl was painted in 1922 by a young lady named Minnie Weighill. Research shows that she was 31 years old and lived in Winnipeg, MB when this was painted. Bowl measures 3" high and 8" from handle to handle.
There are no chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs. the interior rim has some slight age stains but do not distract from the over all design. Very striking amateur piece. See my store for another piece from this talented artist.
