This ovoid vase from Carlton Ware pre dates the Armand line of lustre pottery. The date stamp for this piece was used from 1906 to 1927. The Armand stamp was first used in the late 1910's placing this vase somewhere between 1906 and about 1917. It is a classic shape with a bulbous body and tapered neck that is similar to vintage Chinese ceramics. The glaze is a sponged orange lustre with rings of gold on the foot and mouth. It measures 21cm ( 8 1/2") high. The base is marked as shown.
The high lustre body does have a couple tiny glaze scratches and the gilt trim shows slight wear. The third picture shows a spot of lightness on the neck. There are no chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs.
