Offered here is this somewhat hard to find souvenir dish from Pico, California potters Ed and Annie Laura Schell. Most of the output found from this company were dishes made in the shape of the 50 states with a raised decoration of the state flower inside. This being a momento for the Milwaukee Braves, which were located here from 1953-65, makes this a much more desirable piece. Mostly active in the 1950's, this piece would date from 1953-56.
Wonderfully delicate form is in the shape of the state of Wisconsin. Interior is a pale blue glaze with handpainted decoration of a bat and ball. The edge is green tube line decorated. The base still retains the original sticker in addition to the impressed marks as shown. Measures 4 1/2" X 4 1/4" X 3/4" high.
Aside from some shelf scuffing to the setting ring, this piece is in pristine, cabinet kept condition.
