Large set of colonial dressed children painted in matching pastel tones with gold gilt highlights - the boy stands 13” tall and is holding a sheaf of wheat in his hands - the girl stands 12.75” tall and is holding a wicker basket filled with roses.
These are earlier pieces made of fine porcelain bisque and are hand painted - they both have the incised numbers “4042” over the number “20” in the base along with a blue makers signature mark that I am not familiar with. I would say they were made in Germany as they have some of the same features and details like Rudolstadt or Heubach figurines.
Considering their age and size these figurines are in wonderful condition - the female figurine does have a what looks to me like a chip flaked off on the bottom corner of her dress - I noticed it when I turned her over (please see picture) cannot be seen when she is standing and does not detract from the overall look of these sweet figurines.
Please see all pictures and feel free to ask any questions :)
